HELP LWTF BY GIVING LOCAL

For our 4th consecutive year, LWTF is participating in Give Local Greater Waterbury & Litchfield Hills. This annual online giving event, sponsored by Connecticut Community Foundation, encourages donors to contribute to their favorite participating local non-profit organization. Throughout the event, bonuses, matching funds, and other prizes are awarded to non-profits reaching specified milestones.

This year we are seeking donations towards the purchase of sampling equipment to help us improve our lake science sampling program. This equipment will be used on our recently completed research boat, which was made possible from your generous donations during last year's Give Local campaign. With your help this year, we will be able to train volunteers to use the sampling equipment to help the Task Force keep Lake Waramaug clean, clear and swimmable!

The Lake Waramaug Task Force (LWTF) is a non-profit scientific and educational organization dedicated to maintaining the ecology and exceptional water quality of Lake Waramaug and its watershed.

Your support helps LWTF:

  • work with leading lake scientists to research and design the best possible water quality management solutions;

  • operate an extensive in-lake restoration system that restores the natural balance of the Lake’s ecosystem by removing or isolating harmful nutrients;

  • improve the Lake habitat for cold water fish and beneficial zooplankton; and

  • control the spread of invasive aquatic species.

Thank you for helping us with our sampling equipment purchase campaign. Every dollar counts! Your support will enable us to continue to preserve and protect the water quality in Lake Waramaug for years to come.

We need your help to keep Lake Waramaug healthy and swimmable!
